Treating Today's More Sensitive Automotive Finishes

Earlier this week, a customer came into our store and asked if we had a degreaser to clean his wheels. Because a degreaser would be too aggressive, I asked him why he wanted one to find out whether there was contamination he couldn't remove with a regular wheel cleaner.
After looking at his wheels and seeing nothing more than typical brake dust, I guided him toward our nextzett Wheel Cleaner, which is a strong detergent but nowhere near as aggressive as a degreaser.

But you don't bring a sledgehammer to hammer a nail into the wall. And you don't need to bring out the most powerful cleaner to get the job done.
Modern Vehicles Are Different
The days of hard lacquer paints, iron engines, metal interior trim, and hard vinyl seats are gone. Years ago, many finishes were more forgiving than they are today. It's not that the quality of finishes has gone down. On the contrary, we're using more advanced materials that last longer, but they also require proper care.

Yes, your wheels face a lot from the environment and the road just inches away. Instead of giving them more to deal with, make cleaning them an opportunity to treat them gently.
A dedicated quality wheel cleaner that is formulated for sensitive wheel finishes might require some extra agitation. Still, it's a small price to pay to keep the wheel finish looking its best.
